According to previous reviews on amazon.com and other websites I was worried about three things:
1. weight: Yes, the case does weigh about a pound. As a tradeoff for good protection I find this acceptable. For people who do not like the added weight, one could also try "skin" cases. Much thinner, but also less protective cover.
2. heat: No, the laptop does not overheat. The added vent openings are sufficient.
3. Kensington Security Slot covered: No, the newest Speck cases allow access to all ports, including the slot to connect a security cable.
The case fits fairly tight but remains removable without too much effort. The build quality is ok. I am still a little sad that I have to hide that gorgeous macbook inside a case, but the added protection seems to make it worth. |

| I would recommend these cases to anybody. It seems to be high quality protection that satisfies my dad while giving me good access to the ports, and keeps my beautiful macbook pro nice and clean on the outside. The satin finish makes the case less slippery than the older kind had been, which is really good. I like how even though it is a hard case, the satin finish makes it feel sort of rubberized enough to feel comfortable. It shouldn't make the laptop too bulky for your bag because I can fit the laptop easily into the 15 inch space in mine easily. As an added bonus, I get to have my laptop be my favorite color, purple, right along with the protection it deserves. The apple logo even glows purple through the back! It's a good gift for a clumsy soon-to-be college student like me because it's both a need (protection) and a want (color)! Even though it's not cheap it's a great buy! The only downside is that it gets a lot of fingerprints but it's nothing that cleaning wipes can't take off, so just buy some of those. |

| I have purchased a few different types of cases to protect my new MacBook pro. This case is the best one i have used and will use. It is soft to the touch and keeps a cool feel to the laptop. it is almost completely covers the entire laptop, while giving you access to all the ports and DVD drive. This is a must purchase if you care about your MacBook. |

| When an Apple Genius replaced my old MacBook Pro with the new unibody MacBook, my old case no longer fit. It was a red hard case also made by Speck and had originally required a little filing on a corner to enable the computer to be completely opened. This cover fits like a glove and snaps on with no problems. A cloth is included to clean the Mac and the cover before installation. The finish has a little grip to it and helps prevent slipping on a surface or sliding out of one's hands. This is a highly recommended product to protect the Mac's finish from scratches. The actual color is closer to cranberry than the brighter red in the photo. |

| I wanted to keep my new macbook pro case clean and free of damage since it cost such a huge amount of money... LOL :) I went on a mission for a cover that was not just a laptop bag but a protective skin type. This Speck cover was just what I was looking for, i selected the satin finish because i had already seen the regular smooth plastic cover, the smooth plastic seems cheap looking and may show scratches easier. The satin purple one I purchased was perfect and really complimented my macbook pro! You can still see the lit up apple through the top portion. It really fit perfectly but you must make sure you have the correct body style of macbook pro because Speck makes this for the 15" with the older keyboard color and the newer body with the black keyboard which is what i have. |

| I love my new Macbook cover. It was SO easy to put on and works so nicely. I'm very satisfied. I wish there had been more color choices as I'm a 61 year old and didn't want lavendar or pink, but neither did I want black. The red is okay though, I nice deep shade of red, not bright red. The satin cover is real nice, although my cat gets hair on it that I have to wipe off, but I'd still rather have it than the smooth one. It's got a nice grip to it and I'm not going to drop it. It truly looks like part of the computer, as if it came that way. I highly recommend it. |

| Looked on Specks website and they were out of the Cranberry color so I came to Amazon and they had it in stock, (even though Amazon calls is Red) and it was cheaper. Case fits like a glove and the satin finish is nice to the touch. Buy it and you won't be disappointed. |

I first saw this brand on one of my friends 17 inch Macs. I just upgraded to the 15 inch MacPro and love the computer, but the case is very easily scratched - I drag my laptop everywhere. The fit and finsh is great - Satin soft touch makes it easy to hold. I have been using it a couple months now and it looks new and have had no heat issues. Everyone who see it so far - has asked about it and seem to like.
If you want to give your mac that little added protection and add a little color it is a "must Buy" and as always Amazon had great price with outstanding service. |
